In the middle of buying a home that has a basement/great room that is 35'x15' and I want to dedicate half of it to being a home theatre. I really need to do it on a budget because this is a foreclosure and may need some things done to it out of pocket. I am not a gamer but would like HD and 3D. I can build a screen for the wall and would like to mount the projector to the 9' ceiling. I will need a good budget projector and good budget surround sound. BlueRay 3D players as well. It has windows along one side and french doors but I can shade them.

So far I am thinking Optomo GT750 and the Onkyo HT-S5500 refurbished.

I will mostly be using it for Direct TV in HD sports, network shows, news and Netflix and Amazon streaming. Will watch a 3D movie when kids have company.

I am open for any suggestions being that is is all new to me. All I have now is a 50" Plasma with sound bar in my living room.
