Yes, those spots are caused by dust. They can come and go.

Lol, so people are returning their units over that? I'm not sure what the expectation is with the replacment.

Yep, people return a perfectly good projector for dust blobs only to get another that WILL get dust blobs, or a refurb that may even be worse.

LCD's are not sealed, they cannot survive the temperatures in a sealed light path. This will always happen.

It was quite common in the very early days of LCD projectors to take them in for cleaning.

I have the 3010 and looks very sharp in the center, but going to the sides, looks a little soft. I dont have a edge to edge full focus and im tired of people saying that issue is not noticeable in video and only in text....so whats the meaning of full hd? a focus loss is the worst enemy for HD. I want to open my pj and take out the lens, i see some holes around the lens that maybe can focus the left and right of the image better, but im affraid of getting it worse. If anyone wants HQ pics of the pj opened, i have some.
I just need some optic help, maybe we can fix this problem instead of returning it and receive another with worst focus, even the 5020 have some problems with that.
