1. Connect to your Laptop/PC
2. Turn on Projector
3. Windows will automatically install the drivers.
4. After done installing, unplug USB -> turn off projector -> then unplug AC power cord.
5. Plug back USB
6. Hold the "Right Key" and plug in AC cord ---> POWER should be lit up RED LED and NOT the 3 Orange light like the step by step says.
7. Your computer should recognize something, but it may fail to install the drivers, so open device manager, and locate the unknown device and choose to update the driver ->> Browse my computer for driver
8. The drivers will be in the "PW980 download tool\Windows-Side usb driver" folder --> Widnows may give a warning that its a unknown driver but install anywyas
9. After its done installing the drivers, it should recognize it as a USB Device.
10. Open up FlashUpgrader (it should have all the files already loaded,u-boot.bin, uImage, root.cramfs, rw.jffs2 ), choose USB2.0 under "Connection" and Flash!
11. Once progamming is complete, unplug the usb wire, then unplug the AC power cord, then plug it back in, power on projector and check firmware

i have a W1400 (not W1500 but should be the same procedure) and wanted to update the firmware, have all the files ready but when i try to go into the download mode nothing happens. I did exactly as you said, holding down the right button (on the device itself) - even tried left button once, just in case - while plugging in AC but the laptop doesn't recognize anything. Power LED is lit red like it always is when AC is plugged in. What am i doing wrong? You seem to have had the same issue at first. Help would be appreciated!

But if W1500 will have nothing else more than FI and WiFi over W1070, then 500€ seems to much.

The W1070 is currently sold for 799Euro due to the high demand. Before christimas the price was near 700 Euro.
The W1500 is currently sold for 1499Euro (1 offer) and 1699 Euro (2 offers on Google shopping).
The difference is even much higher than 500 Euro. It is almost twice the price.
yeah can't imagine its worth the price difference
