Hi folks,

I'm designing a lighting set up for a night club which will include custom-mapped visuals from a projector to various fixtures covered in blackout cloth. For this scenario, my guess is that I'd need to get the brightest possible projector in my budget to give the maximum effect. Either 1280x720 or 1280x800 are both fine as the target resolution. The estimated area to cover is no larger than 200 inches. I will also be building a custom clamping mechanism to attach the projector to ceiling piping.

So, for around $1k, can you guys give me any good suggestions on what to get?

Thanks in advance for your advice/input.

Best,
Neel

Hi SNRMusic,

Welcome to AVS...although judging from the lack of response to your posted request you might be thinking otherwise. biggrin.gif

Check out the Viewsonic PJD6553w (3500 lumen)
http://bountii.com/product-14840-viewsonic-pjd6553w-1080p-front-projector.html?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc

Or the Viewsonic PJD6683ws (3000 lumen) Short Throw <...can be very advantageous in a Club situation...>

.......Or, for a real affordable 5000 lumen Beamer, check out this AVS Classified :

Replacement lamps for the Panny are not cheap, but if the PJ above is still available, little else could rival the value-per-Lumen ration you'd get.

Lastly, do not overlook the need to match up a good Screen surface with whatever PJ you choose. Sheer brightness in a PJ is not always the answer, especially in variable lighting conditions.
