I am looking at possibly purchasing a projector. I found a Runco CL-510 on craigslist for $400. I know it is an old projector and was curious whether it would still be better than a new projector today at the same price point. I will be watching 100% movies, dvd and blu ray, no 3d. It will be set up in a basement with not much ambient light. All opinions are appreciate.

I would't pay more than $50 for it, Runco or not. It is 16:9 but only has 576 lines of resolution -- not even HD and replacing the lamp could easily cost you $3-400. A used optoma hd20 would blow away the cl-510 and if you are lucky, you could find one at the same price point.
