I have a Sony HW10 which has served me well and may continue to depending on the replies I get.
I have it set up in a dedicated cinema room which is fully light controlled.
I have been thinking about going 3D for a while but have yet to justify the cost involved until seeing the online talk about the Benq w1070.
My question is will the Benq (or any other current base priced 3D projector) match the picture of my 3-4 year old HW10?
I did read on projector central that they couldn't recomend it for a light controlled room.

So it was $3,499 msrp new, and you could get something with 3D and as good, or better blacks for around $2500 now. If you want to stay in the lower price range, those pjs, excluding the 3D feature, may not be a significantly better overall image. Unless you really want 3D, or spend something over $2k, it might be better to hold on to yours a little longer? I don't know why they can't recommend the Benq 1070 for a light controlled room? Sure it won't benefit as much as a higher priced pj, but I bet a lot of people using 'em in a light controlled rooms are very happy.
