I recently got a refurb'd Epson 8350, and when I had a white background up, I noticed a slight blue gradient - left to right, along the right side of the image, extending in from at most 10% of the screen. I played around with it for a bit, swapped out source and cable, but it persisted. I called up Epson and they quickly sent me out another unit, but it too has the same issue. I thought it might be the wall I was projecting on, but I held up a white sheet of paper and it shows up on that as well.

So far I've tested it with an Intel NUC and a PS3, and I've swapped out HDMI cables. I tried once going through my Onkyo receiver with the Intel, and once connecting directly using my PS3.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing the problem?

Try using the AVS 709 pattern disk to properly set the brightness and contrast. It is possible this is discoloration caused by the contrast being set to high. For a fast test, use whatever input you have been using and turn down the contrast, if the color does not change you may want to send it back for a refund and go with something else.

I tried mucking with the brightness and contrast, and I can make the discoloration slightly less noticeable, but it's still always there. Thanks for the quick suggestion, though.
