On a 5020. But cannot stop thinking about the $1000 price difference between it and the 3020. With that i can get a screen, ps2 for playing blu-rays, speaker mounts and a small loveseat for the screening room. But am i losing a lot of picture quality? Anybody here and used both projectors? Cheers

Yes, the Epson 5020 is better, though the Mitsubishi hc5 is better than both if you don't need the torch mode of the Epson for 3D. The Epson is better in 3D than the Mits hc5. I prefer LCOS for movie watching, but the Epson is really good in 3D (at least on a new lamp).

The Mitsubishi hc5 if you look around can be had cheaper than a new Epson, and it is just overall a completely better projector.

If you don't mind buyin a refurb, and can do without the dynamic iris that was added for 3D mode in the 5020, Visualapex has 'em for around $1600. Pretty good deal atm.
