i read your review.you described the 3D as perfect.i thought you were not in favor of a DLP-link technology for 3D.how does this compare to the HD25 in terms of 3D and brightness between the 2?

Kraine describes it as the best DLP he has tested this year (see the second comment below the test).
He has replaced his JVC X35 with the Acer H9501BD.

How about some comparisons to the 9500 from last year? Is the 3d brighter? How much better is the contrast? It is a shame that they didn't do anything to the horrible UI on this projector. And only having one user save mode is absolutely ridiculous. It's as if they took last years model and just installed DC3 rather than DC2 but even that is hard to determine from the above confusing posts.

On the H9501BD, ACER has improve the shaprness and also add some new features in the menus (RVB adjustement, CMS). Brightness and Contrast is still the same.

Siggi is right I own now the ACER H9501BD and I have sold my JVC X35, I really love the picture of this new DLP Model.

So this sounds exactly like the 9500 with the firmware update. Fixed the one to one pixel mapping and added the grey scale color adjustment (which is meaningless with one user setting).

The user Shen in the French forum of Kraine compared the 9500 (with the latest firmware) and 9501. Read it yourself:

Figures, no sooner do I buy a 9500 (I don't even have it yet!) and this comes out.

I swear I'll burn those downloaded Replay files to DVD!

Any further news or reviews on this projector? Is worth purchasing over the H9500 from last year?

Yes it´s worth, it´s an improve version of the H9500BD. I own this model for weeks now and in combinaison with my Daylight Xtremscreen I cań´t see any weakness in the picture. Every parts that I'm looking for are there : sharpness, brigthness, smooth motion and good black levels.

Hi there,

I don't suppose you know if the DVI connector on this is dual-link?

To my knowledge there isn't a single consumer grade 1080p 3d projector that has dual link and can support 120hz/frame sequential 3d so I'm wondering if this can?

I'm asking as an Nvidia 3d vision user who has to put up with the limitations of HDMI at the moment...

Thanks.
