I've been noticing a very obvious 'screen door' type of image even at the '0' sharpness setting.

It's hooked up to a 1080p blu-ray source over HDMI. Am I missing something here?

Looks like a normal DLP image to me. You can see the pixels on almost any dlp or lcd projector if you get close enough to the screen. If you want a smooth, no pixel film like image get a jvc or sony.

Yea? I guess my screen's pretty huge (120') and i'm only about 12 feet away thanks to the short throw lens. I had an Optoma HD20 for years though (on an 80' screen) , and never noticed anything even close to this.

What type of projector is it? Where are you getting the test image?

I was looking at doing a 106" screen at 8.5'...do you think I will experience the same type of pixelation? That's the one thing keeping me on the fence about this projector.

I got the test image from the Disney WOW Blu. It's the 'Sharpness' pattern.

To tell you the truth I'm still very happy with the image quality over all. The pixelation is barely noticeable with the sharpness turned down.
More nit-picky than anything. For the price and the size I'm sure it can't be beat.

Im thinking about getting this projector, I'll be sitting about 12ft back to a 110'' screen. I'm planning on putting the projector under the coffee table in front of the coach, about 2m from screen. Will it work having the projector so low, just off the ground? Whats the ideal height for the projector at 2m distance to 110 inch sceen? Thanks for your help.

For coffee-table use, the projector throws an image that starts 4.75 inches higher than where it is placed. My projector is sitting on a 20" tall coffee table and the bottom of the image on the screen that is 6 ft away is 24.75" off the floor. If I change the zoom on the lens the bottom of the image stays where it is. If you put it low you will most likely need to use the keystone correction unless you like your screen low to the floor as well.
