I currently have a Panasonic PT-AX200U (which has been great and only has 874hrs on the original lamp) and it projects onto a 120 Elite screen and can't go any bigger. However i want to upgrade my projector (I want 1080p and better blacks) and need something that allows me to keep my current mounting position. My wires and outlet are all nice and tucked away in my ceiling and i would hate, and the wife forbids me to rip out the ceiling again.

i would like to keep this under $1500 and have to have 1080P and better blacks and allow me keep my current projector placement, I'm open and would like 3D but its not a must have especially if i can stay closer to $1000 then $1500.

I was looking at the Epson 8350 but its kinda long in the tooth and would perfer something newer to market with hopefully more features like 3D and better lamp life. Wish the BenQ w1070 had lens shift frown.gif

The BenQ W1070 has vert. lens shift, but with a very limited adjustment range. Also it has a very limited zoom range that won't work with a 120" screen with a 20' throw distance. Very few DLPs have lens shift and would work with your throw distance. The BenQ W7000 and the Sharp XV-Z30000 would work, but with prices closer to $2K.. At a lower price point the Acer H9500BD will just be able to support (at it's min. zoom setting) a 20' throw distance for a 120" screen and this model has a lens shift adjustment. This models sells for around $1.3K, or less.

Of Epson's 3D projectors that would work for you situation, the current Epson 5020UB ($2.6K) or one of last year's 5010UB models (perhaps a used one or a refurb model might get a little closer to your price range) are about your only choice as the Epson 3020 has no lens shift and cannot support your 20' throw distance for a 120" screen.

Would i be better off going with the Sharp XV-Z30000 or the saving up for a while and getting the Panasonic PT-AE8000U around Xmas time? I dont want to spend alot but want this projector to last the same 5 years or hopefully more that my current PT-ax200u has .

No one will be able to tell you, the pj you buy will last 5 years. The Sharp might be a pretty good choice if you can't up the price to the 5020. Or wait a couple mths for the new ones to come out and see if the price will drop some, then compare.
