I just bought an Optoma ML500 (i know its old and has some flaws but i got a real good deal on it)

The biggest flaw is the sound. I am sure there are post and threads about this. However, I have a hard time using the search button (sorry)

My main question is how do I get sound to my receiver? I am currently running an hdmi from my blu-ray to my projector for visual. The audio is currently coming from the projector (AWFUL).

***I have a receiver and speakers*** I just do not know how to set everything up

If you do not know what I am talking about but probably have experience in home cinemas this is what my box looks like from the back: https://www.google.com/search?q=optoma+ml500&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=vfbgUem5H9i14APn14HwDw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=979#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=K-DOpnUu72p-AM%3A%3BseIMb8kI872GOM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.av-newsflash.de%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252F2011%252F09%252FOptoma_ML500_2.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.av-newsflash.de%252Fpressemeldungen%252Foptoma-launches-ml500-lamp-free-led-500-lumens-ultra-portable-business-projector%252F%3B520%3B211

THats pretty much it. Thanks for the help.

Some PJs have an "audio out" port that can be used to send audio back to a receiver (though it's often just analog). Your model does not, so the only thing you can do is feed from your source directly to the receiver. Does your blueray have other audio outputs? That is your only option at this point.

RCA, yea that will work but it it's only stereo. For presentations it's fine I guess, dunno what situation you use it in.
