Long time lurker, first time poster.
I am finishing my basement, and against my will I purchased a SMALL 64" Samsung 8500 for the wife to watch daily TV. I wanted something bigger, but the motion was terrible on all larger sets (80" +).
So anyways, I was able to compromise with her, and going to install a project/motorized screen to drop down from the ceiling for my movie/sports viewing
I just want to make sure I have all my bases covered before I order my project/screen.
Location - Basement, no windows, total control over lighting...mostly will be in the dark, except for the occasional football/hockey game.
Room Size - 16x25
After doing research on here, I have concluded that a Epson 5020UB paired with a SI G4 107" should give me what i'm looking for. I dont want to spend more than 5-5.5k on the combo, cheaper if you guys have any other comparable suggestions.
A few questions I have.
I need to place the project 20' away, but from the throw I see, this shouldnt be an issue w/ a 107" screen, correct?
Being @ 20ft away, will the PQ be affected from the zooming capabilities of the projector?
In regards to the drop of the SI G4, they list it as 24" on their website...is this 24" the max? Am I able to adjust the bottom stop, so lets say its only a couple of inches? I will be building a box to totally enclose the project screen, so I am limited on height.
