I just purchased a new bulb at start up it makes a loud electric buzzing sound for about 1 second. The picture is totally fine and the the sound only happens for a moment.
Should I return the bulb? Does anyone else have this issue? If the picture is ok should I even worry about it?
Thanks!

I would return it immediately. It might be fine, or it may fail prematurely, but after the 90 day warrantee has expired.

Was this a real Panasonic bulb, or one of the many cheap "almost as good as" bulbs?

Anyone in the Ottawa Canada area looking for a good deal on an almost new bulb for a Panasonic PT-AE4000? I got a new bulb (honest to goodness genuine Panasonic part) 3 weeks ago, and my projector got killed by lightning last Thursday. The new bulb is fine (it's the HTMI inputs that are shot). There's still a good 1,800 hours of life in that bulb. Looking for $250 (or more).

Thanks,
Mike
