i have been using the projector calculator at Projector Central and have been considering the Optoma HD25,HD25e, and BenQ 1070. Right now I have a Viewsonic PLED-W500. I have an 85" Da-Lite CinemaVision 1.3 gain fixed screen in my living room. My living room is open with my kitchen, which has some windows that I dont block out. Generally poor lighting during daytime, fine during nighttime
I got these fL numbers from the calculator:
HD25e: 85fL, 9'3" distance
HD25: 61fL, 9'3" distance
w1070: 49fL, 9'3 distance
PLED-W500 (current): 27fL, 8'8" distance
I find my current projector only usable during nighttime and early morning. I am assuming the calculator goes by advertised lumens. If I were to run the HD25/1070 in Eco mode (say 60% of advertised lumens), it would still put me at 40-60fL. I
Is there such a thing as too much feet/lumen?
