How can I watch digital OTA broadcasts on my projector? I do have a cable connection, but just don't want to get a set top box from Verizon FiOS and pay the high monthly charge.

Thanks

PHD-205LE or any OTA set top boxes from Epvision depending on your projector. If you still have a cable hook up at your place it will also pick up the HD encrypted signals. This is the one that I use for outdoor events. Very simple very solid! You can also pick up one of the little rectangular powered antennas from Monoprice for about 12.00 - google monoprice HDTV Portable Indoor / Outdoor Antenna w/ Ultra Low Noise Amplifier

You might be able to pick up a USB TV tuner on Amazon or get a Roku box to stream TV over the internet.

However with the USB TV tuner you would have to install it on a PC for it won't work just plugging up into the projector.

Your right, it's not broadcast for a USB TV tuner or a table top tuner would work with that.

I was thinking that you wanted to get away from any cable or Sat TV setup.

Unless they have stations that broadcast live on the Roku ?

Does live feeds if any on the Roku look really live ?

Has anyone experienced that before ?

Live feeds that don't look live ?

Look at the Boxee TV. It has an ATSC digital tuner and can connect to your projector via HDMI . It also has built in WIFI and an ethernet connection so can connect to the internet for apps such as Netflix, Hulu etc. Boxee sold itself to Samsung so no real support for the product and the cloud dvr capabilities at this time, but I only purchased mine for live TV viewing and Netflix to my projector. The unit comes with a small antenna, so if you are close to the broadcasters towers you may be able to use the small included antenna. I am too far away from the towers so have to use a larger arial antenna to pick up the broadcasters signals. You can also get Clear QAM channels if you hook to your cable provider and they offer clear qam channels via coaxial.

I am using it on my Optoma HD3300 projector with great success.

You can purchase Boxee TV at Walmart for 98.00. I hope this helps.
