I was using two very hot new products for this review : the BenQ W1300 and the OPPO BDP-103D DARBEE EDITION

Yes you're right it's depend on the source, the PS3 gives less judder than the OPPO BDP-103D, but in any case you will have it. This is the major weakness of the W1300, the lack of FI. Let see if the one inside the W1400 will save us. wink.gif

Thanks a lot for the review!

Does it has any offset? Could this be avoided using lens shift?

And finally, does it support 60hz SBS 1080p 3D mode (even unofficially)? This would be great to compensate the lack of FI via an htpc with SVS.

Even the 1070 has official support of this mode in firmware 1.06 so I don't see why it isn't supported in 1300.

0.10 lux and 3800:1 contrast ratio.

With the actual firwmare the W1300 didn't support the 1080p SBS signals, the only solution was to put the resolution on 1080i.

What is SVS? Which PC software has the function of a FI? Do you mean SVP (Smooth Video Project)?

This site can be interesting for 60Hz playback:

Sorry, I meant SVP. In fact, I usually use Interframe, which is a standalone avisynth script within ffshow.
Results are, at least, for me, state of the art.

Looking at the W1300 specs from BenQ it indeed supports SBS modes, but it seems that, at least, officially, it
is limited to 1080p 3D 24hz. In any case, if the w1070 supports 3D SBS 1080p 60hz (could anyone
please confirm it), there would be certainly no reason for the W1300 not be de same.

Kraine, using the projection calculator tool from Benq it seems that zero offset (i mean, a perfectly horizontal
lower/upper line from the lens) can be achieved via lens shift. Could you please confirm this? Thanks!

Based on Art Feiermans's review of the W1070 - that PJ sounds fantastic. Is the W1300 higher or lower in the line than the W1070? It turns out that the throw range of the W1070 will mean I have to re-do my setup if I want to keep my same mount and screen size... The W1300 however, has a different lens, so it looks like it would work - what's the main difference between the two? (Any info on the W1060 also - man there's a lot of models out there...)

How DARE you question my ignorance!?!

Would be nice to know the input lag numbers on these BenQ's, I found the review of the W1500 from projector central and while they liked it a lot, it has almost triple the input lag over the 1070/1080st units. I am hoping the W1300 and 1400 do not have this problem since they don't have the additional processing features.

Yes, I would like to know lag number for the W1300 as well. I suspect the W1400 will have lag similar to the W1500.

What are the plans for the W1300 to hit the US?

Kraine, can you talk a little more about the crosstalk you saw with the left eye? Was this only with the BenQ glasses or was it on the Volfoni glasses too? Also, can you confirm which color wheel segment is used to link the glasses? Red or white?

That is the million dollar question. Is the W1300 worth waiting for? I imagine there are more than a few of us sitting on the fence wondering if we should buy the W1070 at this point. Any expert advice?

So what do you guys reckon - should we consider w1300 and w1070 absolutely identical for all practical intents and purposes? I have not been able to find any differences between these two other than the optical element.

Heeelp! Now the thing won't start if it's upside down (as in ceiling mount) - the red light LAMP comes on, and then the PJ powers down. If I flip it over it'll start just fine. Anyone knows what this is all about?

BenQ requires you to send it back for firmware update as I read.
