- buy older hd33 refurb (maybe...hmmm)..
- return hd25e, and ship back 3D glasses and ride HD65 a little longer :-)

Wow,

I know the uniformity issue is there, and I see them really only in the Grid Pattern, but so far when watching other sources (e.g. games, movies, sports) I can't see it and it is not a bother.

Maybe I am lucky I don't use a PC for my Home Theater needs.

The way I look at it, the price for the projector is a great value and I can't expect a $3000 image for $1000.,

That being said, if the focus is a bother for you, then I could understand. IF it was really bad for me (knock on wood) I would have the same thoughts too.

Well said, well said... my friend. I don't have to make my final decision right away... still have 80 or so days :-)

I was just surprised by Optoma's response. At least I give them kudos for being honest about it... ;-)

Like I said it doesn't bother me, but I know it is there... It will take more testing time... Like other poster said I have to decide what is more important to me... wink.gif

BTW... my extra 2 pairs of 3d glasses arrived today... Awesome service...

I think it might be a hd131xe/hd25e specific issue....

I've read about this issue on reviews for the 25-LV as well.

I am a new owner of an Optoma HD25e and I clearly see the input / resolution graphic on the bottom right out of focus.
This bothered me until I looked closely at the built-in grid pattern and the AVS sharpness patterns and I see no geometry or focus anomalies.

The pop-up input / resolution graphic on the bottom right may not be the best test of overall corner to corner geometry or focus.

The softer corners from the optics is what some are upset about..... its not really and anomaly...

Well, I have to say that my busy life has only recently let me view any 3D content in it's entirety.

Last Friday I sat down with a friend and watched Star Trek: Into Darkness. I saw this movie in the theater in 3D so I had a good reference point.

I have to say that although I haven't " dialed in" any 3D settings (we watched in in graphics mode) the movie was stunning even on the preset. The depth was there, there was no ghosting or cross talk, and the brightness was about what I remembered when in the theater. I have to say "BRAVO OPTOMA, BRAVO". I really wonder how to figure out how to optimize my 3D settings, but man I was happy with the 3D as was. Had a friend over too and he was taken back by the image quality period (2D and 3D) of the HD25e and he couldn't stop talking about it. He is into home theater but doesn't have a dedicated room like I do.

Side note, did anyone read Projector Central's "best of....under $1000 projectors" article. You can see it here: http://www.projectorcentral.com/best_projectors_under_$1000.htm

Wish they considered the newer Optoma's, but whatever. Had to laugh as I am indeed a gamer and movie lover, so the HD25e screams to me and he does recommend the HD25 for gamers.

Anyhow, this first time Optoma owner is quite happy so far.

Cheers,

Kirby Y (aka - The Outcast)

I just downloaded the CO4 firmware. I haven't put it on the projector yet.

Does anyone know what the firmware CO4 does or adds??

Thanks, CanadianZ

yes otherwise known as a standard USB cable.... Sorry if my last comment came out sounding condesending it was not intended that way, I really just find it shocking that the mini and micro USB cables have now become so popular that the regular original usb have become something people dont recognize.
Seriously though most printers and scanners come with this cable you may already have one. Even my new wireless HP all in one printer came with one even though its not really needed
