Can you connect the google chromecast to a projector?

If you could it would be very handy.

Can you do it with the epson 3020?

A buddy of mine purchased one of the Chromecast dongles and we put it on my Onkyo receiver (front HDMI port), which was hooked up to my projector (rear HDMI port). That way the sound went through just the receiver and the video went from the receiver to the projector. Worked great once he got it set up with his laptop, which was interfacing with my home wifi. I moslty sat and watched him fidget with it setting it up while I worked to get the receiver to switch over to the front HDMI port. Wasn't as simple as it should have been, but we did get it working.

Interesting.

I just did some research and it appears that the chromecast doesn't play local files. It is only officially supported for chrome, netflix, and a few other things. That cuts down on its usability quite a bit.

With you and your friends set up, how did you get the audio to work?
