So, right now, I have an Optoma HD131Xe... I really like this projector and it hits the mark with all of my requests in my title with the exception of it's color wheel. I definitely notice rainbows often with this projector, more often when my room is darker or during high contrast scenes.
I know the BenQ W1070 would be the obvious choice for a replacement (5X-6X color wheel, nice brightness, low input lag), but it's got a shorter throw and I don't want the projector in my vision while I'm watching a movie.
So, therefore, is there any DLP projector (in the under 3k price range, preferably under 2k
1. Has a 4x-6x color wheel. (The higher the better. RGBRGB preferred!)
2. Has 1500+ lumens (2000+ preferred.)
3. Has a normal throw. (Not a short throw like the BenQ W1070 or even shorter like the W1080ST... need to be able to throw a 92"-106" image from 11'-12'.)
4. Has low input lag. (40ms or lower is enough for me, the lower the better... I'd prefer 32 or lower.)
I was looking at acquiring a retired Optoma HD20 as a replacement as I don't need 3D and it has a 4x color wheel, but I think it's brightness would be a step down from what I have. (My projector is in my living room and there's ambient light at times.)
If anyone has any recommendations for a DLP projector which would fit the bill, please share. (I know some will recommend a 3LCD projector and it's not what I'm looking for at this time. However, if I can't find a suitable DLP projector, I just may have to go that route.)
Cheers and thank you!
