What made them think they needed to put this in the manual. I am just unpacking my PT-AE8000U.

Really? You think this is worthy of posting? Attempt at humor? These instructions are pretty typical of any electronics nowadays. Here are the instructions for the Epson 5030.

So, if my DLP projector doesn't come with those instructions, does that mean that DLP owners are smarter than LCD owners?

Or, does that mean I can sue the manufacturer when I spend two weeks trying to figure out why my remote control doesn't work?

Yes, definitely worth discussion!

I would think that Panasonic has had problems with people doing the very things they advise against...and then asking for an exchange.

And again I don't think it's restricted to Panny owners.

My Sony HW55 had a note "Do not place 3D glasses in fire". What????? eek.gif

Of course, that would be the first thing most people would think:" FIRE! I must put these in the fire.....yeah, that's EXACTLY what I need to do!"

I really have no clue what led to that note....

If I was writing those manuals I would put in a bunch of silly cautions just for the irony.
"Do not eat remote control batteries, even if they have been discharged"
"Caution: Do not use microwave for heating gasoline"
"Warning: Do not use TV power cord for mountain climbing"
