I just set up my LG PA75U. I noticed that there is a light border around the entire image as if the projected image is not filling the entire projected area. It's like back when you were adjusting the screen of an old CRT monitor and you had to move and stretch the image to fit your monitor. I have gone through every possible setting and have done many Google searches and have not found anything similar to this. This has nothing to do with inputs because it still looks the same even when set to the projector's home screen (no source selected).

The image looks great! But it looks to me like a good amount of pixels are being wasted. The image should be almost 5% larger!

Has anyone seen this before? Is this normal or do I need to get it exchanged?

I have attached images to show the problem. Ignore the distortion as I took them with a fisheye lens. I also over exposed the shots to make it easier to see the light border around the image.

If you are sending it 720p then it will have some space at the top and bottom. That projector, according to the specs on projectorcentral.com has a native resolution of 1280x800. Problem is with your source. Hook up a BR Player or Set Top box that will output out a guaranteed 720p and see what it looks like.

I'm not sending it anything. This is the home screen of the projector itself. You can see in the pictures that the border is not at just the top and bottom but all sides.

But I have hooked it up to my computer by HDMI and sent its native resolution of 1280 x 800 and get the same results.

I don't have this projector, but make sure of the following things:
Correct aspect ratio settings
No Zoom settings set
No Keystone correction settings set

Looks like I have found my answer... According to a guy in another forum this is completely normal for DLP projectors. He has seen the same fanominon on 6 different DLP projectors. But thank you for your replies. smile.gif

I have the same thing happening to my PA75U as well.. however I do not believe Charles27 (I think that's his user name you are reffering to) that all DLP projectors have this issue. I've been to a couple differents friends places that have DLP projectors and I do not see any sort of border arond their image. There must be a setting or something with this projector that we are overlooking perhaps? I just started playing with it last week so I'm still going through all the settings.

If you figure it out please let me know. With my black felt border soaking up the extra light It isn't really a problem. But if those are extra pixels that I can take advantage of then I would like to!

My PA70G doesn't have that when feeding it a signal. No fancy menu that takes up the whole screen so I can't test that (it's got the usual LG TV menu).

Is your aspect ratio set to full or 'just scan' on the projector?
