Is the difference worth the 150$ gap?

Yes if you plan to keep your buget lower and spend on some 3d glasses as well..

.. and No..if your store has a good return policy and warranty cover.. apparently few buyers have reported on online store review sections with focus issues on the 131xe with soft image throughout, on some sources like a 1080p PC input,, but if it is not an isue for you, or it works out fine out of the box, you have a good and almost identical proprietor for 150$ less and also black in color.... I would try best buy for it. Seems like they may be newer than the online retailers.
No soft corners with mine and mine came with a lense cover. First I have heard of a lense cover coming with them so my guess is maybe a newer build?
