The deal is up! Good deal!
Too bad this wasn't available last week. Best Buy was great to work with, but I have some bad history with them and would have rather bought from another store.

Just ordered. Paid way below what I would have for unit, mount, ceiling plate, and two extension tubes. Should make a great addition to the home ^_____^

Sweet deal. Doesn't seem to be available in Canada though.

I'm still on the fence between this PJ and the JVC. I prefer the JVC for the deep blacks for my cave, but this price point is very tempting.

I think this sale opens up different avenues previously unobtainable if you're on budget constraints. This gets me the unit I want, don't have to wait foe a rebate, and the money allotted to buy the unit at full price let's me increase my screen size and also do some light proofing around the basement. Maybe also some furniture ^_____^

So if you're going to break the wallet then break the wallet... but do it in a manner to maximize your experience. Just my .02

Told ya guys to wait... I knew it was going to start today but couldn't say anything. I spoke to them on the phone earlier in the week. I'm just going straight to their shop locally Monday to grab mine since they are 20 minutes from me.

Now, can someone help me and tell me how this DIY works to get 3D RF? What's the "emitter"? Which 3D glasses are the best bang for your buck that would work with this? Thanks.

Is this the emitter?

Will a darbee help with sharpening the image without adding the artifacts? I like the look with rc on but even with everything set to 0 the artifacts in the background are distractin. So I end up turning it off but the image looks too soft.

Does anyone know if projectorpeople.com charge state sales tax if you are outside of Florida?

I know Newegg doesn't and was just wondering about PP.

You should be ashamed! This is the 21st century! Segregation is a thing of the past.

PP only charge state taxes if you live in FL.

Don't have mine yet (put in my order 9:05 PST last night :-), but from what I've read the default setting is bright cinema (bulb on high)

I expect I'll be using a cinema mode with the low lamp setting.

I am in low power reference mode. I had to do some panel alignment as well. If you do any panel alignment, I recommend max zoom first.

Guys,

I have purchased my Sony HW40ES and after a while of using I noticed the image started to flicker. I set the lamp to low using Reference mode and this issue always occur with every movie I watched. I have swapped the HDMI cable connection and also try plugging into other wall socket but to no avail. I am beginning to sense that it is not the problem with HDMI nor the power issue. However, if I try to run the projector in Normal lamp mode the flickering will not appear. The image will only start to flicker if it is in low lamp mode. I have also tried to run 5 hours in Normal mode continuously but it did not cure this problem. Does anyone here encounter this problem?

Thanks in advance.

mikapoh,
Do you have the Film Projection setting on? Cause that works by inserting a black frames between the image frames. When I turned it on, my wife said that the image was flickering like a florescent light.

You can find the setting by opening the menu, selecting "Picture Menu", then "Motion Flow", then "Film Projection"

That is exactly what is happening to mine, flickering like a florescent light. BTW, I have my Motion Flow feature disable, not sure about the "Film Projection". When I back at home, I will give it a check on this and report back. Thank you very much.

Not sure why enable Film Projection will cause the image to flicker as in your case. I thought it is more of technical fault.

Ok I have checked my setting - the Film Projection mode is switched off ! Hence it is not this setting can cause the flickering image.

Bummer. That would have been a convenient explanation. The next things that come to my (non-professional) mind are power source and then defective projector.

Projector Central review notes low power in reference mode gets 700 lumens.
