Hey guys, bought new Feb. fw 108 1070 and the picture is horrible. I used the settings on page 255 of the BenQ 1070 thread. Worst thing is the flesh on people has red swirling bloches/lines, especially in dimmer scenes. This is my 5th projector, so am no rookie. I think it might be called crushing. Picture looks like standard def on HD show. I tried adjusting everything. I had a Mits 3800 and it was way better. My son has the BenQ1070 and it doesnt look this bad. What gives?? Am using the Redmere HDMI from monoprice for cable. Thanks in advance.

Try cinema mode out of box setting. With 1.08 it's pretty much close to perfect.

I have tried cinema mode. Red moving bloches undulate over peoples faces. I will try to post a pic.

Picture would be good but it sounds like something is wrong. Have you tried another hdmi input or other hdmi cable.

When using my cheap and long HDMI cable I saw red artifects everywhere. It seems bad signal mostly affect red channel. So cable or any other components in your food chain is the first to investigate.

I will bring another HDMI cable from my other house this weekend. However, I am using the same cable as was with my 3800 and no problems there. But yes, the cable is suspect. I am returning the projector to newegg tomorrow as the fan/or colorwheel buzzes. thanks for helping.
