Epson Projector Release Cycle

I am looking at getting a 5030ub in the next few months. Is there any chance newer models will be out in next 4 months or so?

Probably not.
Epson typically announces new projectors around Oct/Nov and ships them around Dec.

You should be looking at the Sony 40ES as well... or instead of.

Agree that the Sony is definitely a contender at this price point.

Determine what your needs are and use ProjectorCentral's great shootout between the two to help you decide:

I'm not sure on actual street-price, but the Sony appears to be slightly cheaper.

BenQ W1070 Projector; Xtreamer Ultra 2 (running XBMC on OpenELEC) via Sony STR-DH540 AVR with Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS SE 5.1 Audio. MediaBrowser3 for Mobile Streaming.

I have been away from the forums last couple months getting the basement ready. I just discovered the 40es after posting this thread. I am definitely leaning that way now.I would really like to see both the 5030 and 40es in person before making a descion, but that's unlikely. I think I would be happy with either, but I do feel the 40es should be a slightly better picture based on what I have read.
