1080st no video???

Just got a benq 1080st and when I hook it up I get no video signal. I just replaced my optoma 720gt. I'm using a VGA to component cable for monoprice. Since the cable works with the 720gt figured it would work with the 1080st. Any ideas? Fwiw it's running through my av reciever and I did try a direct connect to the 1080st.

There is no indication in the owner's manual that the W1080ST supports component video over the VGA connection.

Looks like you will need to use the component video connection or, at this point, with most sources you should be connected HDMI.

I use component video to my projector and it works just fine, but I am going in component.

You can get a short VGA to component cable if you need to.

Will try the VGA to component.
I have a 40' run with the VGA to component. Just hope I can find a really short one since it comes out of the ceiling and down a tube. Hopefully i can track down a coupler and a short cable. Any ideas where I can look, bestbuy etc? Fwiw I have an older reciever with no hdmi guess an upgrade is in order it's 6 years old lol. Thxs

VGA to component, or VGA to RGBHV is available in lengths as short as 6" from eBay and more specialized places than Best Buy. Since component is mostly 'dead', the use of adapters isn't likely at those stores.

But, Amazon... Sure!

With an older receiver, if you can still get audio into the receiver using digital or analog, you could just use an external HDMI switcher for your video if you wanted to.
