Problems with download mode on Benq 1080st

Is there anyone out there that knows what's wrong if my projector (Benq W1080ST), when after a firmware update to 1.05, the projector is still in download mode (red light on power)..? Have unplugged the power and plugged in again, have tried to use my pc to reconnect, but it won't get any connection. PLEASE help!!

I just got my brand new W1080ST from Amazon on Monday.
Haven't unpacked it yet.
Still waiting for some other stuff to arrive for my HT.

Your problem makes me very leery, about doing any type of firmware update.
Are there any mandatory updates, that must be performed right out of the box?

Benq W1080ST DLP 3D Projector
Sony BDP-S5200 3D Blu-ray Player
Denon X4000 Receiver
Pioneer SP-FS52 Tower Speaker x 4
Pioneer SP-C22 Center Channel Speaker
PSA XS15se Subwoofer x 2

Brand new (especially from Amazon) will almost certainly already be up-to-date: so no, nothing for you to do. Except mount it and power it on!

BenQ W1070 Projector; Xtreamer Ultra 2 (running XBMC on OpenELEC) via Sony STR-DH540 AVR with Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS SE 5.1 Audio. MediaBrowser3 for Mobile Streaming.

Thanks!

Actually, I'm going to place the projector on a coffee table.
I live in an apartment and can't mount anything to the ceiling.

Am I correct in assuming, that the further away from the wall
your projecting the image onto, the larger the image will be?

Correct. Also remember that these projectors have an Optical Zoom, so the image can be made bigger from the same position.
Use the BenQ calculator (on a PC/Mac) to see his this works:
