SONY is taking everyone by suprise and demonstrate a new 1080p led laser sxrd mini-projector at IFA 2014.

Crosses fingers that it isn't another single-panel LCoS like the older Aaxa units and that it beats the contrast of Sony's expensive wall-hugger. It does look like a pretty large device so I'd have to assume it'll be 3-panel.

Simple <$250 dedicated black-fabric theater room, build in a day, takedown in an hour.
Easy $25-40 DIY black/dark-grey ambient-light rejecting screen, grab two things from a local store..mix..roll..done.

? No it won't.


Epson is releasing similar as well. These will probably be 10k+. Don't really belong in this forum.

That fridge picture looked like such a casual use for such an expensive device. Not that I don't believe you about the price, it's just weird to show a ~$10,000 cube stuck high on a wall to project a 20" diagonal of some snapshots.
