Just wondering about my options. Because of 16:9 panels and throw distance, so far all I hear about possible replacements for the 400Q are the Sharp 9000, Sanyo PLV-70, and the new line DLP HD2 projectors.
Granted the 400Q was over $5k MSRP but that was a few years ago. Anyone cares to share about possible replacements in this forum?
Thanks!!

What is the throw distance for the 400Q? As far as I understand, the 400Q could be replaced by the recent arrivals of new exciting and relatively cheap LCD projectors such as (listed from cheapest on up):

1) Panasonic Ae200
2) Sanyo LPZ-V1
3) Panasonic Ae300

The above are only available from Japan right now, but they should be coming to North America in not too long.

I don't know about the Sony's but there are HS-2 and HS10's that are really good too. Just check out the thread around here about those pj's.

Does anyone have links to specs on the above 3 projectors? I just checked www.projectorcentral.com and the specs aren't on there. I'm a current 400Q owner looking for a replacement but MANY projectors released or about to be released won't do the long throw distance I need.

I'm curious throw distance info on the above 3 mentioned projectors.

Thanks!

WynsWrld98,

Check this site out they have specs on lots of projectors including one or two of the ones you mentioned.

I have had the "Q" since it first came out. I was lucky enough to get it at dealers cost at the time but those connections have since dried up and I will never see a price break like that again! I still enjoy the picture enough to justify holding on to it for a year or more. I will jump when the quality of projectors such as the Sanyo plv70 come down to the 3k price range. In the mean time I will just keep my drool bib on.
