I got requests for some pix of the 75U in action. I don;t have an elaborate digital camera, only 1.3 megapixel and I had to shrink the pix. Keep this in mind when viewing them. I'm still waiting for my carpet for my basement to arrive, so pardon the boxes and stuff.
Very cool. Thank-you for posting that. The pictures look great. Your setup is cool. The reason I am considering a 75U over an AE100/200/300 or the Sanyo is because I might be able to get the 75U for work/business and pay for it partly for work. I just don't know if taking it down and bringing places will be useful. Perhaps its just a hairbrained idea to get more out of the projector and to justify getting one. Also, the 4:3 would be useful for watching TV for now. Do you watch any 4:3 material with the 75u?
Its not really a DYI mount. I bought a Chief ceiling plate, but bought the pipe and floor plate from Lowes. They were about $3.00 total, and Chiel wanted about $30.00 for a pipe and a ceiling mount. The plate wasn't cheap at $149.00. I don;t watch a whole lot of 4:3, but when I do, I set the 75U to display the 4:3 picture in the middle of a 16:9 "box." - its called 4:3s mode.
I would buy the 75u over the AEs because the res in 16x9 at 1024x575 is still higher so why even monkey around with the lower res projectors!
and besides I watch a lot of 4x3 stuff (tv-full screen dvd). and who wants those black anyways?
