It seems no matter what material I use, I end up having left over lint, dust, oil, or something left on the lens after I clean it. What is the best way to clean your lens and it be perfect?

I second the idea of using eye-glass cleaning solution and the lint-free cloth used to clean glasses. I used these on my Sony 400Q (I had a condensation problem) and the results were excellent.

I was thinking of putting something on my lens that repels the dust, I had a spray solution for my rear projectors screen that did this wonderfully. That is made of plastic though so I don't know if It would have the same effect on glass.
