I'm sorta setup for both a HTPC (DVI) and a Prog. Scan DVD system, and I personally prefer the Prog Scan DVD system.

HTPC looks very sharp and detailed, but for some reason, scaling DVD movies to the native resolution of my system produces a lot of jagged lines across most of the picture. It looks good most of the times, but for some reason those lines distract me.

Prog Scan DVD looks very, very good. Not as detailed as an HTPC, but it passes. ;) I just bought a Panasonic RP-82 player a few weeks ago, and when in progressive mode, the image is very rich and clean. It doesn't have as much detail as the HTPC, but I prefer the more filmlike image of this.

So how are you guys setup?

I have a Panasonic RP82, and a Dell laptop with an nVidia video card. It will drive the Epson to native panel resolutions. It does seem a little sharper, but the RP82 is more film-like. I will finish up my installation over the next two weeks, and I will report out my satisfaction.
