Does using a projector at its maximum vertical shift affect image quality?

I want to keep the projector as close to the ceiling as possible. I was thinking of setting the vertical shift to its lowest possible setting, then adjust the pole vertically to align the image to the screen. Is this a bad idea?

It depends on the specific projector, you can try it and see for yourself. It shouldn't be too much of a difference.

Based on these post it sounds like you don't want to be at the limits of lens shift if you want the best image quality. Owners thread Sony Hw55ES
