I currently own an Epson 2030 and a DIY blackout cloth screen.
I do not have a solid wall behind the screen, it is mainly windows with blinds with gray blackout curtains, so mounting the screen on a wall is not an option, so it being a DIY anyway, I improvised and have it mounted on a TV stand (screen is sitting on the stand, and the wooden frame behind is screwed in to the stand Vesa mount). It bends a bit at the top, but I have some sticks behind the top corners pushing them off the wall to keep the screen as straight as possible.
The ceiling / walls are white, but I am contemplating attaching some temporary black fabric in the first ~6 feet to see if it makes a big difference. Painting the walls / ceiling is not an option unfortunately.
I am considering upgrading to a HW45ES for a somewhat better picture because the 2030 is dull enough that I don't really make myself watch movies as much as I'd like too.
So with that said, I was wondering whether a different screen might further improve the picture here. Do you have any recommendations for a good screen that would work in these conditions with the HW45ES or should I stick with the current one (maybe wise to start with it anyway).
The main reason I ask is that one of the places I am looking at to buy the projector from (Eastporters in Canada), usually offer bundling the projector with some reference studio 4K screens (whatever that means), and was wondering whether that is a good idea, or should I just keep the one I have for now and maybe later if I do decide to get a better screen, then maybe get something like a Silver Ticket with a higher gain.
Of course, the assumption is that whatever fixed screen I later potentially get (e.g. Silver Ticket), I could attach some kind of a DIY frame on the back to be able to mount it to that TV stand again.
It's not that I am really focusing on Silver Ticket here, it is just the one I have mainly noticed browsing around, there could be better ones too.
