LG ProBeam UST (Ultra Short-Throw) laser projector HF85JA

ProBeam UST (Ultra Short-Throw) laser projector (model HF85JA) and LG MiniBeam (model PH30JG)

LG Set to ‘Extend Lead’ over Rivals in LED Projectors

Quote:
Consumers who have doubts about the effectiveness of projectors in brightly lit rooms can put them to rest because the LG ProBeam UST generates up to 1,500 ANSI lumen of brightness, 1.5 times brighter than LG’s previous UST projector. And the ProBeam UST’s 150,000:1 contrast ratio ensures that every TV show or movie will look crisp and accurate. What’s more, the light source in the ProBeam UST is incredibly durable, estimated to last up to 20,000 hours. Its innovative I-shaped laser engine gives it a slim and sleek profile that looks great in any room.

This appears to be the brighter version of PF1000UW. Priced at around 2k, it will interesting to see how it matches up against the Xiaomi.

Questions:

1. Suitable for use in home theatre with little ambient light?
2. Support for 24p in 2D?
3. Support for BFI/FI?
4. Is the rated noise level of 30/28/26db acceptable?

Many thanks for any feedback.

Any love for either of these products? I'm curious about the LG PH30JG, but it only puts out 250 lumens. That doesn't seem very bright. Are there other projectors like this out there that may be a better pico type projector?

There seems to be a 'normal / non - UST ' version of this product already on the market; laser based with the same contrast ratio spec. Projector central did a review on it (the HF80JA).

It'll could be possibly underwhelming, but will be interested to see reports.

No 50p support, it would seem.
