I have a Sony HS20 and have been trying to get closed caption working from my satellite receiver. I called Sony and they told me that they don't have to abide by the 1990 law that requires TV's to have CC encoders in them because they aren't a TV. Pretty flimsy but I'm guessing that there are other people with projectors that have the same problem.
What I can't understand is why the HS20 and HS10 both have a subtitles menu option which sets aside part of your screen space for subtitles. I've never seen anything get displayed in this area. DVD's have their own subtitle system and my satellite receiver won't display there either. What could this be for? Has anyone ever gotten broadcast closed captions (also known as Line 21) to work on their HS20 or HS10?
