No one in their right mind could judge any picture quality from a screenshot, IMO.
Its not about judging picture quality its about eye candy and throwing a few dogs a bone! That's all.

Li On, I've been messing with the z3 with SMART system, and I believe I found a reasonable D65 reference.

You mention you started with LOW1 and then a colorfacts calibration.

Do you have the numbers for you RGB, gain, offset etc - I would like to compare notes.

Thanks

ROne.

Hi Pinkfreud,
The projectors were viewed at Bleeker's in Kanata. I did not see the actual player in use as they had a central home theater that switched all the sources via component to all the projectors. The sources were; Progressive DVD (LOTR), Rogers HD, 480i from digital cable. Go in the evening as the set-up with the Hitachi suffers from abient light from the front windows during the day.

Hi ROne,

We destroyed the Z3 after the shootout. No, just kidding! :D

We asked for users to lend us the Z3 and AE700 in our local AV forum as we don't want to borrow the projectors from dealer so that we can have a completely non-bias shootout.

I didn't write down the projector setting's value and the projector was returned to the owner after the shootout.

regards,

Li On

Hi,

Anyone using the Z3 as a full time TV? This is what I am after to get rid of my 46 inch Sony RPTV.

My room will always have some lights on as I have kids.

Any advice would be appreciated. My other thought was to go with the Hitachi PJ 1000 with 1200 lumens instead.
