go out and get the new DVD titled pulse. This dvd, matched with a digital front projector and a good sound system is simply AV Nirvana.

Dark side of the moon is played live in its entirety on disc 2. Sorry if this is a repost. I watched it again this eve, and thought I should post here for the rest of the PF lovers and projector users.

My HTPC was not happy with it at all. It stuttered really bad no matter which of the two high bitrate audio tracks I tried.

Pulse is good, but somewhat of a letdown tech. The picture is a bit rough, and the sound, while incredible at times, is also pretty muddy in the low end quite a bit. There is a Pulse thread in the movie and concert forum going on that has been getting mixed feelings about this release. There are better concert dvd's than this.

Wow, wait to poop on a guy's thread! ;) He actually said if you're a Pink Floyd fan get the DVD, not if you just wanna see a good concert DVD.

:)

The video looks about as good as it could considering it was shot on SD video quite awhile ago I think. When the lights are bright it looks pretty good. When it's dark there will be video noise. At least they didn't try to filter and DNR the hell out of it. I actually thought the sound at the 648kps.(?) track was pretty swell.

but what do I know..?

:)

Was not trying to "poop" on his thread, just stating my opinion. I am a big Floyd fan as well and enjoyed Pulse, but it just was not as tech good as I had hoped. I was really hoping for a nice crispy soundtrack, but it was more of a soft warm soundtrack which is not my preference. Still a great performance though no doubt.

is this concert footage from the pulse tour in '94? I saw that show. I really wish roger waters would come back and they could do a wall or animals show.

OT - if you're a pink floyd fan, you have to get the "Live at Pompeii" dvd. don't watch the actual movie, but go to the special features section and you can watch just the concert footage. I still love that movie.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

Okay, so for Floyd fans who don't have any spare time to research for good Floyd movies or concerts, which are the HQ short list DVDs?

Live at Pompeii?
The Wall?
[FILL IN THE BLANK]?

The Wall is a must have. Also, if your system can handle SACD might I suggest Dark Side of the Moon.

I agree. The Wall is a phenom HT experience. I was actually just playing some of this before I watched a Peter Gab concert. This movie is one of the best head trips there is IMO.
