Do not get the 4 years service waranty
I bought my HD70 in September and it went dead in October. I brought it to BB and got a call 2 days ago that they will give me new one. Went to the store and they didn't have an HD70. So they offred me an inferior product ( Epson @ $699 ) so they gave me the choice of paying the differential to get a better one or get a store credit. I asked for refund and they refus

I got that great deal at bb which was 2 hrs from here
then went to local circuit city and they refused to price match
because it wasn't on bb website

In order to price match this is what needs to happen.

Both the Circuit City and Best Buy need to have the item in stock
The stores need to be close to each other (2 Hrs away may be a little far, I have read it needs to be around 25 miles but YMMV)
If you find this is the case just have the Circuit City Salesperson call best buy to confirm the price.

If all of this happens you should have no problem getting a price match.

Well this is strange I must admit. I went to a local Bestbuy that had the hd70 listed for 499 weeks ago when the sale started. They were out so I went to the Kiosk and they had them for 499 and I ordered one for home delivery.

Got home checked the status of the order and it said backordered! I thought, "well that is that," it will be perpetually backordered. Well I just got notice it is being sent and will arrive on the fourth! WOW never thought BB would come through!

Love my DEF TECH!

I was walking around a Phoenix area store around December 1, and noticed the clearance tag on the shelf for the HD70: $499. Of course, they were out of stock, but when the sales guy checked stock at all the Arizona stores, I noticed that all stores showed the HD70 on clearance, and that most stores were selling it at $499. Some were $599 or $699, but the North Scottsdale store showed $399!

I walked to the kiosk at the store I was in and ordered one for delivery for $499. Next, I drove to the North Scottsdale store where I was able to buy another at the kiosk for $399!

My orders were delayed for nearly four weeks due to backordering, but finally, I received an email saying that they were shipping. I couldn't believe it. $499 is an amazing deal for this projector. $399 is just sick! Not sure if they're still in stock, but it may be worth taking a drive to that store if you're in the area.

Now I have to figure out how to mount it to my existing ceiling mount which has an Infocus IN72. The HD70 requires M3 10mm bolts, and I can't seem to find them anywhere. Any ideas?

If you have a Napa auto parts store near you, they should carry it. They've got a ton of different metric bolts. Perhaps other auto stores have it, but I've had the most luck at Napa Auto. I'm in NJ, so I don't know if you've got them out by you.

Went to watch nfl playoffs on my 4805 and the bulb burns out. with over 2500 hours I knew it could go at any time. hope this is a nice upgrade.

well no luck at mpls area best buy stores. Went to circuit city and they are $999 but state a $400 rebate on the in store plaque. They did not have one in stock so they gave me 10% off full price including $144 4 year warranty. After all is said and done the rebates print and they are both $200 rebates with the same rebate number. I ask for a manager and tell him it is false advertisement and he issues an instant $200 price adjustment.

I got the home theater people at my local BB do a search on who had it in NC and they found one unit available 20 miles away but it was $999. They also found that there were two other BB's within 80 miles that sold their last units at $499 and had none left. So I went to the store that had it, tried to get a price match, they wouldn't do it. Instead, I bought it at $999 drove another 80 miles to the other one and have them adjust the price to $499. I also used a 10% AAA coupon to bring the price down to $449. Pretty good deal!!!

My local CC has it listed at $599 after 2 rebates. I asked them about the second rebate, they could not find it. But they said that they would adjust the price and sell it for $799 to compensate for the missing rebate. If someone can stack the AAA coupon, the final price would be $519 which I think is pretty good.

I just got confirmation from my CC that they are still selling the HD for $599 after rebates. For the price, I don't think you can get a better pj. I found out that in addition to what CC's hae in stock, there are 22 additional units in their east coast warehouse they can order for the same price. Also, don't forget to use the 8% AAA coupon or the 10% Entertainment Book coupon. Good luck!!!

Found one at a Best Buy in CT today for $499.

Now I just need to figure out how to get it mounted in my theater room, as it needs to be closer to the screen than my old Sony vplw400q that was mounted on a shelf at the back of the room

You are a little late - they cleared those back during the early summer. If you want to find one now, you have to scour entire states looking for them.
