I agree with Peter, too. Please don't get me wrong (I didn't really explain very well)... the HD65 produces an excellent
, very sharp, simply gorgeous, bright picture...as amply proven by his pics on this forum. I'm not at all
dissatisfied with it.
BUT...since I want to go to a larger screen (I also have a real 35mm film projection system, and use the same screen for both) I do want a big, bright 1080p image, eventually. BUT, I know going from 720 to 1080 isn't going to be a giant leap. In other words, if it doesn't produce at least an equal, but very slightly 'sharper', image than the HD65 I won't buy it. No need to, in my opinion. 720p on the HD65 is more than adequate, IMO, as Peter says. I don't feel I'm 'missing' anything right now.
Also, NOBODY is saying the new 1080p machine will be 1600 lumens!! I hope so, but there's no guarantee on that one, that I know of.
Maybe you could try the HD65 and see for yourself?? If you live where they're returnable there's really no risk. Right?
You'll be amazed at its performance, I think. I was! Sorry if I've confused the issue.
