Watched 2012 last night. Steaming piece of crap movie.
However, I noticed blacks look a bit crushed. Went through the Spears and Muncil test disc and checked out my black levels, I found after cranking up the brightness I could only see 2 of the 4 bars - none of the below black info.
My Denon BD player was at '0' default BRIGHTNESS. When I cranked up the brightness in my Denon all below black info (4 bars) was visible. So, I left it at +12 BRIGHTNESS in the Denon and lowered the Brightness in my LUMIS to compensate. It appears the LUMIS/HOST was clipping blacks. Whites were OK.
Anyone else notice this? I may update my firmware to the latest to see if this is fixed. I haven't so far as I have been very reliable.
Currently running 3.14.08 FIRMWARE.
Goodbye to a great audio and video genius and writer... JOHN GANNON. I enjoyed your friendship, wit and a nice long run we took around Indianapolis at CEDIA years back... and for buying my Runco 980 Ultra years back... you saved my ass! Rest in peace.
