Where's the rides thread??!

Very nice ride!!! Looks lie a serious ass kicker!0

I do think a 'Show me yor ride' thread is a fun OT thread. This are pretty stagnant here as of late.

That's a pretty sweet ride. Am I correct in assuming they are best used in non-action type photography? What kind of lenses do you have?

We can always start an OT thread.... most rides are more than 20K. So at least they belong in this forum

Raul, I forgot to insert the i'm just kiddin' smiley. I am embarresed to confess I don't even own a Leica - just a run of the mill Nikon. If I was forced to spend $30,000 of discretionary funds on toys, I would upgrade my audio system first, my car second and my camera would be a distant third (getting a Rolex would come last).

That's too bad, I was going to own one vicariously through you Even if I had that kind of disposable income for a camera, I doubt it would suit my needs, but it sure is a beauty. Rolex ??? To be honest, if I were to put big money (>$10K) into a watch, Rolex would probably not be on the list...James Bond doesn't even wear them anymore

I should have said "expensive watch" instead of Rolex. At least a Porsche is faster than my Hyundai. "Expensive watch" performance in terms of superior ability to tell me what time it is is highly questionnable.

Dear thebland:

Congratulations on the new ride - those are my colors too. Breathtaking. How does it smell? I can only imagine the hint of new leather.

It's somewhat funny but in explaining ADA home theater preamps to so many over the years, I have always compared the difference between our units and the many others in terms of high-performance vehicles and street cars. In the right hands, you can really push it. In the wrong hands, you will never realize the vehicles potential.

Most preamps are inherently designed like street cars as they are engineered for the potential of an over-the-counter type of sale. As such, all too often cool features are either left in fixed positions or simply not included in the control package. Our philosophy has always been that ADA preamps are designed to be installed by either serious enthusiasts or professionals. Hence our wide open control architecture.

After all, it's all in the ride

You are not getting it? Hell I would. Did you sale the Meridian? I like Meridian. Have to find the ADA if you can even say that it is that much better.

PLIIx has always been there. Only for TRUE HD 5.1 sound tracks, it will not expand to 7.1 For TRUE HD 2.0, no problem and for DTS MA 2.0 and 5.1, no problem either...

What does this Rhap Mk V processor have that the suite 7.1 hd does not?

Will the suite 7.1 hd also come in hdmi 1.4?

I like the 1ru part for multi-room 3D distribution (if 1.4).

Mach IV has

1. Better front panel (aesthetic only)
2. Balanced audio outputs or
3. Non-HDMI video switching for optional scalers, etc.
4. Second crossover (fixed at 80Hz) for running full range "large" speakers

Haven't paged through the manual, but is there a 'Deep Color' menu item (or is it auto pass through)?? I'm going to play around with it this weekend.

The MACH IV treats all video as pass-through and purposely does not a thing to the signal...

I originally had my BluRay and satellite going directly into my Lumagen XE. I currently have them going into the Mach IV and then from the video output to the Lumagen. There is no degradation of picture quality going through the Mach IV.

We began shipping units this week. They now also feature Dolby Volume. We anticipate announcing upgrade paths sometime in Q2.

And no, this is not an April Fools post.

Have a wonderful weekend

Hi Richard

Hopefully you have shipped my unit. Will look forward to the final installation from Tony. Will take 2-3 weeks for the whole setup to be functional.

Is Dolby Volume an HDMI 1.4 feature? Or can some of us non-1.4 users have it as an upgrade??? Or is it already on board?

Thanks!
