I'm having trouble with the PEQ software connection. I get a Run-time error '13' when try to establish connection. Any ideas? I have UMR coming here tomorrow morning to calibrate the Mach4 and
i sure could use some quick help. TIA

I didn't know that the PEQ could accessed from the front panel so I think I'm good to go.

Are you able to use the HD suite software?

I've had the above message, but only when the ethernet connection was broken.

Did the PEQ connection ever work Chris?

I remember the fun I had when trying to get the HD Suite to work on mine which was for a newer software version.

Gave up on trying to get it to connect. Jeff Meier is doing the basic levels, tones, etc. right now then he'll finish by using the PEQ on the front panel display.

I think this is a common problem, I certainly had this loads when I first started out with the ADA. I only wish I could remember how to fix it, I still get this on my Office PC (Win7 Ultimate x64) but not on my HTPC (Win7 Ultimate x86) which works perfectly.

Whether it is the 64bit Win7 that is the issue I couldn't say, it is probably a red herring. HD Suite works fine on both though.

Are you the one he was doing this with that he posted on Twitter that he was disappointed in the noise in the surrounds?

I don't know. I don't think so but can you post a link to that? I gave up on the PEQ from my PC. I think it ended up being easier for him to just do it on the unit itself.

He did the full calibration and was very impressed with the ADA. It sounds phenomenal. I listened to some of my favorite movie tracks and was blown away at how I heard things in a way I've never heard before. For the first time ever it sounded like the music coming from the surrounds was coming from out of the room and not out of the speakers. Way good.

I know the PEQ has no shelf filters. Was that much of an issue in calibrating?

I'm not sure but the levels I had set using the ADA's internal noise and my sound meter were way off comared to his Avia disc and his gear. He said rarely does using a units internal noise better a disc and proper calibration equipment.

If you have your PEQ engaged and you put your ear next or your rear speakers do you hear a loutish hiss or noise?. I imagine you might hear it if you have disc not even playing. What ADA firmware version do you have?

I'll check mine tomorrow.

That would be because a) the ADA internal tones are not full range pink noise, b) only an external noise generator/disc will include the PEQ or any other audio processing modes and c) most SPL meters aren't all that accurate especially with the bass and high frequencies.

I think there may be a very soft hiss coming out of the surrounds if I put my ear next to the speaker, but I can't hear it otherwise. I have the older firmware, don't remember the exact.

Hi guys.. A couple of q's for your CRM4 owners.

I am just about to upgrade from the 7.1HD to the crm4.

Reason being is I need another sub but have no space. So figured why not use my B&W 802d to their full potential and get the bass from them using the double bass option, for want of its correct terminology.

Also, I can implement a house curve onto the bass domain whereas at the mo I use an audyssey sub eq which only allows flat, no curve to be used.

So, I want to know does the double bass option work on all inputs. Ie, hdmi from my blu ray and analogue from my linn akurate ds. Only reason I ask is I read an old post yesterday where richard s. states the double bass is only available on the analogue 7.1 channel inputs, however these are designed to bypass the dsp so I perhaps miss understood that.

Also, if I want to use true 2 channel bypass or direct as it were and completely miss the dsp, I would need to use the multichannel 7.1 inputs and not the standard 2 channel analogue inputs as they are always subject to dsp?

Many thanks in advance.

What do you guys with dual subs at different distances do to time align both subs as the Cinema 12 only has 1 subwoofer output?

Samsung 64F8500, Panasonic 65VT50, Oppo 95, Tivo Roamio for OTA, Dish VIP722, Marantz AV8801 preamp, Rotel Amps, Atlantic Tech 8200 speakers, Seaton Submersive HP, Calman 5, Chromapure, Accupel DVG-5000, i1Display3pro, i1pro2, eecolor colorbox.

Can anyone please remind me how to set up iRule to control the ADA over IP?

(I can at the moment control it via RS232)

I have managed to get the ISO working on Windows 7 by trouble shooting compatibility, this ends up running this in XP.

What I do not understand is my Iphone is showing A Green gateway

All sorted, it was either my Router or W7 stopping me.

Just glad I didn't throw out my old 'just about hanging in there by a thread' Windows XP laptop last week.

Mani,

Then you need to have one button in one of the panels where you can assign that command to

I think here's my problem - I have no button. I did create an ADA feedback device and an empty command in it but I didn't assign the command to a button

Now I'm gonna add a button, reset all the network settings back to defaults and then try again.

Thanks a lot!

+10dB boost @ 25hz on the sub channel! Either you have a massive amplifier overhead on your subs, or you are asking for some clipping?
