Here is a nice little test to see how well you see color. I wont bother mentioning my score which was disappointingly low but id be curious how some of the ISF guys who work with color for a living do with this test. Its a little time consuming but take your time and let us know how you did. Be truthful!!

I hit 34 and admittedly went quickly through the test ( you really do need to take a couple minutes between color rows ).

Dan

Apparently the highest score was over 1500 so I'm at 34/1500 or top 2.2% (?)

Wow, that was tough Alan. I think I took a reasonable amount of time (maybe 10 minutes), and still only scored 16.

I got a 16 after 5 minutes effort. I "suck" at blue/bluegreen and the pink on the red side.

My wife got a 4, but she is visual artist working very precisely with color. I got a 118, and already knew I was color blind. FYI: I do not do video calibrations, or even anything video related. I stick to audio!

I'd say that it is fortunate that you have calibration equipment.

I'd be interested to see how this changes depending on your display. LED LCD vs. CCFL LCD vs. Plasma vs. Monitor vs. Plasma vs CRT, etc.

Congrats. Everyone here beat my score but I rushed through it first time. Ill have to give it a second try in hopes to save my reputation otherwise any future visual opinions posted on my behalf will lose credibility

Johnsteph10, you don't know how right you are. Your PC monitor is very likely not even close to calibrated, and that will make this test much harder. There is also your viewing environment as well as what colors your eyes have been soaking up during the last 20 minutes.

But yes, if you are disappointed in your score, try it again using a good calibrated display!

Fun.

I scored '6'. Darn Blue/Green!

Interesting test. I scored a 14. I did this on my projector screen and might could do a little better on a good monitor.

I worked in the printing industry for 27 years with 4 color process. There are all sorts of issues that effect the end product on high speed web presses. Dot gain being the most dominant in the red. I won't go into all the other problems, but there are quit a few to deal with.

I scored a zero on the 1st try.

I scored a 3. I went though it rather quickly on an uncalibrated monitor, but I turned off the fluorescent lights half way through the test. It's a lot easier with controlled lighting.
FWIW, the 3 I missed were in the muted green region and the fluorescent lights were on at the time.
Fluorescent lights clearly interfere with color rendering and discrimination.

I took the test again on a 19" LCD monitor and scored perfect. I was shocked.
A guy that works with me tried it and scored 30 on the same monitor.

Interesting, I wonder why so many of us had problems with Blue/Green? Is that age related?
