I'm sure we've all made typos at one point or another, but the ironic thing is that your reply about a typo contains a typo as well (perhaps you meant "mean", instead of "me"?)

The below typo is certainly applicable to this thread:

Theta HDMI 1.4 upgrade now available!!!!

(oops, sorry, "now" should have been "not")

Perhaps, some day, it will not be a typo...

From first post of thread

"Theta will start accepting orders for the Casablanca III HD (1.4 3D) September 1, 2010, wth deliveries scheduled for October 2010"

I guess they are late again....

By saying this, do you mean that your order of a CBIII HD was rejected by Theta?

Was that a typo? Was it supposed to read "with deliveries scheduled for
October 2015"?

Like the good info we've been getting all along?

Seriously, I hope there is good news, provable, for Theta at CEDIA.
I head that The Bland plans to camp out overnight to be first to the Theta booth in anticipation!

The Bland is not camping. He is sending Theta a big hollow wooden horse for their exhibit. Guess who will spending the night inside it?

Knowing that the Bland did this at Mark's suggestion, and knowing that Mark is a sex addict (talking and writing about it, probably not much more than that), I bet its a "TROJAN Horse" full of goodies!

Steve,

As far as dealers taking orders-

It's up to the dealer.. As you probably know, we started taking orders last week and people have been using the cb3hd.com form to organize and prioritize the line up.. For some reason some people thought this form was Theta's form and I have no idea why, it has all my info right on it.. We placed purchase orders with Theta months ago for the Upgrades to make sure everyone has a nice place in line.. Purchase orders are usually tied to commitments and dollars which we stepped up to the plate for our customers and made sure that they will have priority upgrade availability and special pricing for our Loyals..

Hope this helps

Craig

not a horse, but perhaps more appropriate for the Theta HDMI saga?

I've been in the software industry a long time, and even when "it's done," it's "not done..." I love their product, but I can't plunk that kind of money down again until the unit is available and is working, let along a tour-de-force in the processing world...

Best,

Stieger

Great one!

You'll get the Theta report from me before lunch tomorrow. First booth on my list! Can't wait to see these guys. Of course, I will pose as Doug Winsor I'll make sure I don't haze them too much or go bananas if they push this HDMI update into 2011!!

Why are you going to the Theta exhibit? You would never buy their products? You can not still be bitter after all of these years? Your report would hardly be objective if you still are.

Purely to entertain the AVS CBIII crowd. I am going to CEDIA not on business but pure fun and seeing the guys around here.

I love the dealer ad again. If you guys want a better price and as well as priority service you know who to call. Rules don`t allow to post who but I trust all here can figure it out.

Mark, that sounds like a stupid lawyer ad on TV here: "In a wreck, you know who to call. _______ and _______."

HA! HA!

No its not my lawyer ad. I don't do TV. I only watch TV in HD of course!

So, what's the latest on the upgrade? I forgot when the CEDIA show is, but am hoping to hear good news from the Theta camp. Any update on when this upgrade will actually occur and if anybody has heard it at their booth?

Just want to know when to start saving pennies for this, if ever

Best,
