That's not even the most expensive one that AudioQuest makes.

If I marketed the world's most expensive coat hanger, similarly equipped with oxygen free steel and a cool digital indicator to tell you when your coat is hanging on it (which obviously would be easier to see than the huge coat hanging on it), do you think I'd find similarly delusional groups of people to buy it?

I think I'm on to something. This might be the perfect forum to start marketing!

The best feature of these cables is in the comments section.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/AudioQue...ustomerreviews

Here is an example or two.

Good but not great...

"I must say, I was a bit disappointed in this cable. I saved up for 6 months to buy it. (I work at Wendy's so I don't make a lot of money). When I first plugged it into my dvd player, I was impressed at how well it fit into the socket. It's probably from the gold plating. When I went to hook up the other end to my 36" Dynex, I was so angry to find it only had a DVI input. So I bought a DVI to HDMI adapter at Radio Shak, and was able to make it work. I couldn't really tell much of a difference between my Monster cables, but it probably just takes a while to get used to. I would recommend it to a friend.

this deal is smoking

"I was amazed this cable was still in stock. I use it to power my 14.4 inch crt because i can't afford an lcd. I was initially concerned about the cost but once i did my research and found out this cable is manufactured with the mineral "doesnotexistium" i knew i had to have one. When its not in use on my crt i use it to hold the drapes back. I have ordered 5 more. We have a lot of drapes."

A few years ago there was a USB cable that Denon was selling for something like $499 to connect a DVD player to their reciever ! It was featured on Amazon.com and the comments were so damn funny that it became a feature at AVSforum. It got so out of hand with the comments by people that either Amazon or Denon finally had to shut down the comments for a while on being able to review it on Amazon.com

It still has a life of its own now.

Just google Amazon.com and Denon AKDL1 Dedicated Link Cable. You will be more entertained by the comments on this $499 USB cable than if you listened to music via the cable.

http://usa.denon.com/us/Product/Page...1-2a63642a6206

"Denon's 1.5 meter (59 in.) proprietary ultra premium Denon Link cable was designed for the audio enthusiast. Made from high purity copper wire and high performance connection parts, the AK-DL1 will bring out all the nuances in digital audio reproduction from any of our Denon DVD players with the Denon Link feature connected to a Denon Link enabled Denon A/V receiver. The AK-DL1 employs high level tin-bearing alloy shielding not typically available in commercial cabling, to eliminate data loss caused by noise. Additionally, signal directional markings are provided for optimum signal transfer. Attention to detail when building this cable was used by employing high quality insulation and woven jacketing to reduce vibration and to add durability. Rounded plug levers help prevent breakage."

That fabulous Denon Link cable is not USB as stated above. Its a CAT5 connection that uses Denon's propriatery connection scheme for Denon Link. They refused to incorporate FireWire when it was introduced and used their own homegrown method.

My mistake. That makes it even funnier for a Cat5 cable to be offered at $499

That is only $8.46 and inch

I am old enough to recall "Candid Camera" and it would be hillariious to see a 29 dollar Dynex DVD player recommended with a $699 HDMI cable and a $199 Monster power bar and two year warranty and see the reactions.

Try this one for $2,200.99 AudioQuest - Coffee 39.4' HDMI Cable Read the reviews, they are quite funny.

Here is a good informative link about the practices of this company: "AudioQuest's Theories Exposed"

For Those Redditors I posted it about two weeks ago: Reddit /r/Gadgets

"AQ go(t) one better with their Diamond HDMI cable! $2,595 for 16'5" or you can special order a 39'5" for $9,800. http://www.audioquest.com/pdfs/Retai...10-May-web.pdf" - remiel

While my HDMI cables are from MONOPRICE, if/when I need to buy some more, Amazon's own brand cables are quite nice, and the price is reasonable, usually under $10. This is one for a example. I already buy a lot for Amazon, and am a PRIME member already, so if I need a cable, it's free 2nd day Air for me and no tax. Doesn't matter if all I get is a single cable!!! My brother has one of these he showed me last time I was over at his place. It really looked like a nice, well made cable. So while monoprice does have great prices and a HUGE selection, and Different Colors, Amazon is another great choice.

Monoprice is over priced. It's all about the dollar store now. $2 for 1 meter.
