I have a Sim2 HT500E projector that is acting up. The projector will run for about 4 minutes and then it just shuts off. It is very consistent at shutting off around the 4 minute mark. My gut was an overheating bulb caused by fan failure but the fan seems to be running. I called Sim2 and asked about a filter system but they told me the HT500E does not have a filter system. A local dealer opened the case and cleaned the filter system that Sim2 says does not exist but the project still seems to run for a few minutes and shut off. Is it worth spending over a $1,000 to ship this projector back to Sim2 and have it worked on or should I spend the money towards newer technology. I have no idea what the repair costs will be once Sim2 has the projector.....their customer service department defaults to "send in the projector then we'll talk." Quite frustrated with them at this point. So, send the Sim2 HT500E in for repairs or buy something new? $4,000 budget on new. thanks.
The only factor that needs to be noted is that my Sim2 HT500E projector is currently controlled via an automated Crestron control system. I need to be sure the new unit would be able to be controlled with the Crestron home automation system.
My screen is 14 feet wide, 8 feet wide and 30 feet from the projector mounting location.

With a screen that large to light up, and the SIM2 picture quality you're accustomed to, it will be difficult to move to something new that works within your $4000 price range. PM me.
