Dunno about above average, but certainly "different". wink.gif

If Curt's describing user fiddling with the Configuration Editor, it's beyond my meager abilities.

I would not touch the configuration editor with a 10 foot pole. It has "screw things up through unqualified use" written all over it.

While theoretically possible, it won't happen in the near term, as there is just too much involved. I do see the possibility at some point of providing an advanced class on the techniques I use to accomplish this and other outside the box solutions.
Cheers,
An advanced class over the internet would be great. Sign me up:-)

I run just four channels input and three speakers output without use of remapping. Besides, I am perfectly happy with sound quality of my system (which just got a huge boost from a new DAC connected to the digital out of the Trinnov). No need to fix what ain't broken.

A simple speaker configuration menu like receivers have is all it would take, but maybe that's not compatible with the Trinnov UI.

Seems like la France HQ has decided they don't like the Unity name - it's now the Amethyst.

Turns out we had a name conflict with another new product introduction. News flash.... Looks like we are progressing well on our goal to get 192k out of the Amethyst when it's delivered. No time line just yet when we'll be able to update the balance of the product line to 192...

Cheers,

Cheers,

Curt, for competitve reasons, I think a new digital preamp/DAC needs to support 192/24. 192/24 flacs are hitting HDTracks big time. Does this mean a firmware upgrade will enable 192/24 in the ST2Pro at the same time. Any news on USB? Does the unit have a USB input?

Roger - try the link I posted, I hope it works - the current brochure is now 32 pages long rather than 12 pages long and incorporates the previous separate document about Dirac Live as well information on the new amplifiers.

In the UK both amps will be in the circa £10k+vat range. Expensive yes but tremendous in comparison to amps with similar performance and features.

How many speakers do you have hooked up?

Dan, I wanted to ask you, when you did the test what settings did you use on the Rhapsody? Did you adjust:
Speakers size, levels, delays, bass management (boost?) or left the TEQ to do everything?

I was directed by Richard to set everything to Large, Subwoofer on, set the crossover up high, like 140hz and distance to the same across the board. TEQ took care of delays, levels, etc.

If I had to do it over again (the Reference was a different beast ), I would keep my setup for the Rhapsody, and let the TEQ work it's magic on top of that- that way when I did the Trinnov on/ Trinnov off demo, it would be easier to see the differences.

Theoretically, I could compare the PEQ/Rhapsody settings that I created doing my thing manually to what the TEQ did for optimization. Ultimately though, whatever I could do cannot equate to the 3D remapping and optimization done by the Trinnov.

Before I began this experiment I was skeptical about what a Trinnov or Dirac could do that I couldn't with traditional signal processing techniques. Suffice it to say, I have been converted, wholeheartedly!

WHen I had the trinnov mc I did exactly as Dan describes but I set this to a new virtual Input. So I could easily flick between my crm4 settings with trinnov and crm4 flat with trinnov. It was clearly better when the crm4 was on all flat settings.

Dan, before you start calibration do you have to specify in the Crossover setup how many ways are the speakers and filter types?

My understanding is that this is the proper way to do it. My speakers are 3 ways and when I dial in 3 way, this appear in the speaker routing and is read as 3 speakers. This interferes with the whole calibration process. If I put one way speakers, there is no problem.
I tried to change the speaker routing but this doesn'tfix the problem since again, the Software reads as 3 separate speakers... Any idea what I do wrong?

Ur speakers may be 3 way but are you actively biamping all 3 drivers? If not then just leave all settings as single, one way and ignore that part of setup.

This only comes into play if you are to use the trinnov as an active xover.

Hi Guys,

I am using a Pioneer SC-LX90 and now i am making a dedicated room only for Theater and i wanted something special and very superior.

I was considering to buy DENON AVP-A1HD + POA-A1HD, but i am having some problems as these are discontinued, and that's when a friend of mine to me to buy DATASAT RS20I because is another level, much more superior.

Is this true? Sorry for my ignorance, but this is something i would like to hear from people who have seen both Processors.

What about Amplifiers, does DATASAT manufactures any Amps that can match the RS20i?
Are they as powerful as the Denon POA--A1HD?

Tank you all
