If Curt is game he will be able to bring his Baby to Sarasota where there will be early next year rs-20i and 16 channel Alcons, aes 96 vs aes 96. So that is probably very doable.

Cheers,
Yes despite all we tried in the MC, dipoles just didn't work. I recall when we swapped them out for the Quested lt-8s, things were much improved. Granted to try this, I had to downgrade to 5.1 for trial.

None the less, it was a fruitful experience checking out remapping and Trinnov set up. It was very helpful in comparing speakers on trial and sealed the deal on buying Questeds.

The time spent with the MC and Curt was very enlightening and fun.

It's back!! Wine of the Week! Clos Martinet Tinto, Priorat DOCa, Spain ~$60. If you've not had a good Priorat, you've not truly tried Spain's smallest, yet most unique terroir.

We visit Sarasota (Siesta Key) twice a year - I'd come for an extra visit just to experience the face-off.
Heck, throw in a comparison between Quested and Alcons and you may as well assign me a seat at the dinner table.

Very Small world.. We will try lets see how the cedia folks like alcons... Joking of course I know better.

Turns out that La Salle lives in Sarasota too, I am planing on looking into Siesta key for my 2nd pad.

I should have been clearer - if anyone can translate and summarise (in a few sentences) that would be great.

This appears the most comprehensive review/report on the Datasat that I have come across but I also don't speak German.

Sehr Interessant! but my german is very very rusty too we will have to wait for Waltzer to summarize when he recovers from his bicycle accident.

Which rooms? Also, Peter's been claiming there'll be a Datasat in the Barco room rendering Auro.

Did anyone read the Widescreen Review article on the Auro Crux (which is basically thr Datasat LS10) this month? Now Doug Blackburn compared native Atmos dics played through the Crux Auromatic with a second native Atmos processor hooked to the same system. He said every time the Auromatic was a much better immersive exoerience then native Atmos. Whilst Atmos only used the ceiling layer not ver often and basically with sound effects only Auromatic achieved a full immersion by also lifting music and surrounding sound up. While this comparison is somehow also not fair as the general sound of the Datasat is presumably better the question remains how native Atmos will sound against Auromatic both played by Datasat? Anyone that is going to the Cedia should try to get a 1:1 with Atmos vs. Auromatic with exactly the same source and equipment. Would be an interesting test!

Isn't the McIntosh MX160 limited to 7.1.4??? That said, I am really interested in how Room Perfect compares to Dirac. REALLY Interested as I might actually be able to "afford" the MX160!!
